Why We Require a Puppy Application
At Edin Farms, every Neapolitan Mastiff we raise is deeply valued and carefully placed. These dogs are not only impressive guardians but also loyal, sensitive companions that become true members of the family.
Because of their size, strength, and protective nature, the Neapolitan Mastiff is not a spur-of-the-moment breed. Owning one requires thoughtful preparation and a long-term commitment. They require proper training, space, structure, and an owner who understands the responsibilities that come with a large guardian breed.
They are also expensive dogs to properly care for. Quality nutrition, veterinary care, preventative health care, and the overall cost of maintaining a giant breed should all be considered before bringing one home. Our goal is to make sure every puppy is placed with a family that is fully prepared for the responsibility and the rewards that come with owning this incredible breed.
For that reason, we ask every potential owner to complete a puppy application.
The application helps us learn about your home, lifestyle, and experience with dogs so we can ensure that a Neapolitan Mastiff is the right fit for your family. It also helps us get to know the people who will be welcoming one of our puppies into their lives. This process allows both the breeder and the family to feel confident that the match is a good one before moving forward.
We believe this step benefits everyone involved. It helps prevent misunderstandings, ensures expectations align on both sides, and allows us to focus our time and energy on families who truly appreciate the breed and the responsibility that comes with it.
We intentionally produce a very limited number of litters each year, and many of our puppies are reserved through our waiting list well before they are ready to go home. Our focus is not on producing large numbers of puppies, but on raising healthy, well-socialized dogs and placing them with families who are fully committed to them for life.
When you bring home a puppy from Edin Farms, you also gain a breeder who is available for lifelong support. We are always here to answer questions about training, nutrition, health, and the many stages of life that come with raising a Neapolitan Mastiff.
Our responsibility to our dogs does not end when they leave our home. If a situation ever arises where one of our dogs needs help finding a new home, we work with the family to ensure the dog is safely placed in another appropriate and loving environment. The wellbeing of every dog we produce will always remain important to us.
Because of the level of care and involvement we maintain with our puppies and their families, Edin Farms may not be the right breeder for everyone, and that is perfectly okay. Our application process simply helps ensure that the families who welcome one of our puppies are prepared, committed, and excited to provide a stable and loving home.
If you are ready for the responsibility and the reward of owning a Neapolitan Mastiff, we look forward to learning more about you through the application process.
